After school study cafes
With a wide range of needs to support, staff at Wallace High School in Stirling provide both universal and targeted approaches to supported study.
The Wallace High study cafés are an after school resource in children's communities. They provide a place to study, devices, support from teachers and snacks. Head Teacher Scott Pennock explains more:
“We do a study café in Fallin, one in Cornton and one in Raploch. We also have one in school as a general catch-all for everyone, so that way everyone’s included, but I’ve got more targeting in certain areas. All parents can say their child is offered that support, it has just been arranged in a way so that children get the more targeted support that they might need and every other child is getting the universal support too. We know that we need to target more effectively, otherwise there’s the risk that some won’t attend and will miss out.”
