Our supporter promise

Child Poverty Action Group is committed to open, honest and respectful fundraising. We rely on our supporters to tackle child poverty in the UK. Our commitments to you are set out in this supporter promise. Together, we can push for change so no child has to grow up in poverty in our country.

We hold ourselves to high standards:

  • We adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice set out by the Fundraising Regulator.
  • We are members of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
  • We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and display the Fundraising Badge so you know that you are donating to a charity that has committed to legal, open, honest and respectful fundraising.

We are open, honest and accountable:

  • We promise to be transparent about how CPAG uses donations in our mission to prevent and end child poverty once and for all.
  • We ensure all fundraising undertaken by us and third parties working with us is compliant with charity law and other relevant regulations.
  • We have a clear complaints procedure and we report on any complaints received about fundraising in our Annual Report and resolutions.

We respect you:

  • We will never put pressure on you to make a gift or continue giving; if you don’t want to give, want to stop giving or are unable to keep giving, we will always respect your decision.
  • We comply with data protection and privacy laws and you can read our privacy policy here. We respect supporters’ contact preferences and take all requests to cease communications seriously, acting immediately on these requests.
  • We will take into account the needs of any possible donor who may be in vulnerable circumstances. In situations where we have information to suggest that a donor may be vulnerable, we will either refuse or return the donation.

We value your feedback:

  • We encourage supporters to give us feedback, so that we can learn and improve our processes, systems and communications, for example feedback on your experience of giving to CPAG, why you donated or stopped giving (if that is the case).
  • You can email us at [email protected] and expect to get a response within three working days.
  • We regularly use this feedback to amend and improve our current fundraising practices or materials.
