Universal credit - changes to the health element in April 2026
In April 2026, the limited capability for work-related activity (LCWRA) element will be halved for some ill and disabled universal credit (UC) claimants.
Pension-age claimants – income maximisation
Older people commonly do not claim all that they are entitled to. This course provides an introduction to pension credit and aims to help you with effective benefit checks to maximise income.
Care-experienced young people and the benefits system
Many young people who have been ‘looked after’ by the local authority are affected by special social security rules. Some are excluded from universal credit and instead the local authority is responsible for supporting them.
Students and benefits - eligibility
Many advisers work with students in both further and higher education. This standard level course explains the different benefits that further and higher education students can claim, in particular universal credit.
