Meet some of our fundraising heroes, CPAG's fantastic supporters who have organised events, held bake sales, run races and more to raise vital donations to lift children and families out of poverty.
Lily raises almost £600 during 100km in February challenge
Child Poverty Action Group is an incredible charity. I am happy to have contributed to this important cause in a small way in the hope that the lives of those living in poverty become a little brighter.
Lily decided to take on the challenge of running 100km in February this year. She smashed her target distance and raised just under £600 for CPAG, supporting us in our fight against child poverty in the UK. Thank you so much for your dedication Lily, we couldn't continue out vital work without amazing supporters like yourself!
Corporate partner Kohler Mira Ltd raise just over £36,222
Kohler Mira Ltd, one of our corporate partners in 2023, have been very busy throughout the year raising money for CPAG. Their employees fundraised for us through walks, runs and various other activities. Their partnership with Cheltenham Town Football club also saw proceeds from CTFC’s Boxing Day fixture generously donated to CPAG, as well as funds raised from sales of their exclusive third kit, designed by 6-year old fan Ruby. Thank you so much to everyone at Kohler Mira Ltd who dedicated their time to raising funds for our vital work taking children in the UK out of poverty.
Seb raises an outstanding £65 for his birthday this year
I just thought it would be a nice thing to do, and I already have a lot of presents.
For Seb's birthday, he decided that he wanted to raise money towards preventing and ending child poverty for good. Seb said he loves having a warm coat, but realised not every child can afford them. He hopes that he can inspire others to fundraise as an alternative to a birthday gift. Thank you so much, Seb!
Alan raises just over £2,700 in his mega 2000 miles / four million hugs for children living in poverty challenge
By walking 2000 miles or 4 million steps I hope to represent the plight of every single child in poverty who needs support, in order to give them hope and a sense of purpose.
Alan completed his 2000 miles/four million hugs for Children living in poverty challenge, walking 2007.5 miles in 106 days. It's thanks to supporters like you that we are able to continue our work helping some of the most vulnerable children and their families in the middle of a soaring rise in the cost of living in this country.
Joanne and Fatim raise just under £750 in the Edinburgh kiltwalk
There were some interesting kilts on display, all different colours, short, long and everything in between. I was a bit footsore afterwards but really glad to have completed the walk and raised some money for CPAG.

Victoria raises over £2,300 in London to Paris cycle ride
It was challenging and tiring but great fun and rewarding. Arriving at the Arc de Triomphe was a fantastic moment. Every hill was made a lot easier knowing we were raising money for CPAG.
In September, Victoria (in the middle) completed the London to Paris bike ride in a trip that exceeded all of her expectations. After a 330km bike ride and a four hour ferry journey, her group made it to Paris. Thank you so much Victoria for raising such a huge amount for CPAG. We couldn't continue our vital work without supporters like you.
10 year old Tamaro tackles a 50km bike ride
I find it sad to think that there are so many children living in poverty and I wanted to help. The ride went well and it had a couple of hard bits but I really enjoyed it. I’m really happy and I hope the money makes a difference.
We were incredibly inspired by one of our young fundraisers, Tamaro from East Lothian, who completed a 50km bike ride with his family. Thank you Tamaro!
Ed raises just under £2,400 by taking on Petra desert marathon
I cannot express how impressed I am with the work that the Child Poverty Action Group do. I am just very happy to have contributed in some small way to such an impressive cause.
Earlier in the summer, Ed took on a 21 mile marathon through the desert in Jordan. What an incredible experience and challenge to take on. We couldn't continue supporting low-income families without fundraising heroes like you, Ed!
Homegrown plant sale raises £100 for CPAG
I felt so sad that some children don't have enough food. I thought I'd have a plant sale so I planted seeds and when the seedlings were big enough, I potted them. People were happy to give whatever donation they could manage. When everything was sold, I had a huge smile on my face. I felt really proud that it had been so successful and I was able to contribute to a worthy cause.
A big thank you to 10-year-old Tom who was inspired to fundraise for CPAG after watching a TV programme that featured child poverty in its storyline. Green-fingered Tom came up with the idea of holding a plant sale at his local school, with all proceeds towards our work fighting child poverty.
