"It was useful to think about a child as a part of their whole family and appreciate how they are affected by poverty. I was surprised to know that many working families are struggling financially. There seems to be more poverty than ever, this has made me aware of asking for money and conscious about fundraising. I also liked learning more about services and benefits I can signpost families to. I believe that the course provided real life examples and used the views of our children to show just how important it is for the whole school community to be aware of the challenges of poverty in their midst and to be actively seeking to make a positive difference."
