About this course
The migration of legacy benefit claimants to universal credit has begun in earnest. How and when will this impact the clients/tenants you support? If they are entitled to transitional protection, when will this reduce or stop?
This course aims to equip you with the practical knowledge you need to help your clients navigate the migration to universal credit.
The course covers:
- The Migration process
- Transitional protection, including examples of the two different types and their calculation
- Delaying the migration process
- What happens if a claim for UC is not made by the deadline date
- The exemptions for tax credit claimants and students not usually entitled to UC
This course is aimed at advisers with a working knowledge of UC.
Method of delivery and timings
This half-day standard-level course is delivered online via Zoom. It runs from 10am to 1pm, with a half hour break between 11.15am-11.45am.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
