Managed migration with QBC

About this course
People moved to universal credit from tax credits and legacy benefits may be unsure how their new universal credit award is worked out. Has the transitional element been calculated correctly? How might a particular change of circumstance affect their benefits? Are there steps they can take to maximise their income from universal credit? These questions are often time-consuming for advisers, but QBC (the Quick Benefits Calculator) can help them calculate or confirm awards and consider how different scenarios could affect their total benefit income.
The course covers:
- Using QBC to calculate the universal credit transitional element
- Calculating and checking the amount of universal credit payable following migration
- Using advanced features in QBC for these calculations
- Carrying out ‘what-ifs’ with QBC to explore options for increasing benefit
This course is aimed at advisers with a working knowledge of both universal credit and QBC. Participants should have a licenced copy of the most recent QBC calculator (as at the date of the course) already installed on their computer to allow them to carry out calculations during the course.
This course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm each day with a half hour break from 11.15 – 11.45.
Participants will receive an email link, a few days before the start of the course, to allow access to the event and instructions on how to use QBC during a zoom meeting.
A Wi-Fi connection and a computer will be needed to take part in the course. It will not be possible to join this course using a mobile phone or tablet.
