Build your skills with this practical course on effective legal research for benefit casework. Competent casework starts by knowing the right questions to ask your client. Whether you are helping clients decide on the right course of action or supporting them with an appeal, the facts relevant to the case depend on the law. This course is an essential guide to finding the relevant law online.
The course covers:

- Skills in researching the law relevant to a case
- How to make use of the law in your client case work
The training uses the CPAG Welfare Benefits Handbook online and participants will need an individual subscription. You can take out a free subscription for one month here:

This course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm with a half hour break from 11.15 – 11.45.
It is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
