Child disability payment - an introduction
Next date
About this course
Child disability payment (CDP) is a Scottish benefit that helps towards the additional needs of disabled children. It has replaced disability living allowance (DLA) for children living in Scotland. Getting an award of CDP can significantly increase income so it is a crucial benefit for advisers and support workers to understand. This course gives a practical insight into the main rules and helps you identify children who may be entitled. It equips you to make effective claims by demonstrating how a child meets the qualifying criteria.
The course covers:
- Who is entitled to CDP
- How to claim
- How CDP for a child can increase benefits for the family
This course is aimed at advisers and support workers with little or no knowledge of CDP.
The course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm with a half hour break from 11.15 – 11.45.
It is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
