Attendance allowance - an introduction

About this course
Attendance allowance (AA) is the main disability benefit for people who have reached pension age. Getting an award of AA can significantly increase income and so it is a crucial benefit for older people.
This course will give you an understanding of the main rules and help you to identify people who may be entitled. The course is aimed at advisers with little or no experience of AA.
The course covers:
- Who is entitled to AA
- How to claim
- Some ‘knock-on’ effects of getting an award of AA
Please note that this course is relevant for advisers based in England and Wales. Advisers based in Scotland should book, instead, onto our pension age disability payment training.
