About this course
With the roll out of universal credit (UC) you will need to support your clients or tenants through the process of claiming and maintaining their award.
Even if you have little or no knowledge of UC, this course will help you explain the process and support them with the roll out of this new benefit.
The course covers:
- What is universal credit and who can claim it
- How to claim and maintain an award
- Maximising incomes – understanding universal credit amounts and calculations
- How to avoid pitfalls and deal with common problems
This course is aimed at frontline workers who have little or no experience of the benefit system.
Methods of delivery and timings
This half-day introductory-level course is delivered online via Zoom. It runs from 10am to 1pm, with a half hour break between 11.15-11.45.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
