This course equips you with the knowledge and skills you need to prepare an effective appeal submission, with a focus on personal independence payment (PIP). It covers both hard rules and practical tips, through case examples and focused discussion. Knowing how to write a good submission can also help when challenging a decision through mandatory reconsideration.
The course covers:
- The purpose of the appeal submission and what you will need to get started
- Tips for a high-quality submission
- The Rules - what the tribunal look for in a submission
- Use of evidence including lack of evidence and unhelpful evidence

Method of delivery and timing
This standard-level course is delivered online via Zoom. It runs from 10am to 1pm, with a half hour break between 11.15am-11.45am.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
