About this course
Universal credit is now the only working-age, means-tested benefit for people in Scotland and throughout the UK. Claimants often need help to claim, comply with requirements, check their awards and challenge decisions. You do not need to be an expert to make a difference. This course aims to equip you with the practical knowledge you need to help your service users navigate universal credit and avoid potential pitfalls.
The course covers:
- What is universal credit and who can get it
- Claims and getting paid
- What claimants are required to do in return for their benefit
- Checking universal credit awards
The course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm.
It is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
