About this course
Disability living allowance (DLA) is an important way for families to meet the additional needs of ill or disabled children. This practical half-day course explains the eligibility rules and considers how to complete an application to get the best outcome for the child.
The course covers:
- Eligibility criteria to qualify for child DLA
- Best practice in filling in the DLA form
- Supporting evidence
- How an award of DLA for a child can lead to other entitlements for the family
Method of delivery and timings
This half-day introductory-level course is delivered online via Zoom. It runs from 10am to 1pm, with a half hour break between 11.15am-11.45am.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
