About this course
Adult disability payment (ADP) is now well-established as the Scottish disability benefit for working-age people and there is a significant, and growing, body of ADP caselaw emerging from the Upper Tribunal for Scotland. This caselaw is throwing light on ADP and on wider aspects of the Scottish social security system.
The course provides an opportunity to review recent caselaw and consider how you can use it when helping your clients apply for ADP or challenge an ADP determination.
The course covers:
- Overview of significant ADP decisions emerging from the Upper Tribunal for Scotland
- Main themes from ADP caselaw
- Interaction of ADP caselaw with existing personal independence payment (PIP) caselaw
This course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm with a half hour break from 11.15 – 11.45.
It is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
