About this course
In April 2026, the limited capability for work-related activity (LCWRA) element will be halved for some ill and disabled universal credit (UC) claimants.
This practical half-day course explains who will be affected, which claimants are exempt, and considers how decisions can be challenged.
The course covers:
- Who will be affected by the reduction to the LCWRA element
- Key claim and assessment deadlines for pre-April 2026 claimants
- The ‘severe conditions criteria’ protected group
- How decisions will be made and the routes for challenging them
- A round-up of other upcoming benefit changes
Method of delivery and timings
This half-day standard-level course is delivered online via Zoom. It runs from 10am to 1pm, with a half hour break between 11.15am-11.45am.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
