About this course
This course explains in detail which students can claim universal credit and how student funding affects the amount they get. It will show you how to work out the impact of student income on a universal credit award. The course also considers common problems in student awards of universal credit.
The course covers:
- An overview of universal credit
- Who is a full-time student for universal credit
- Which students can claim
- The interaction with Scottish student funding – student loans, further education bursaries, discretionary funds and other funding
- Passporting benefits
The course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm each day.
It is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone.
