About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced welfare rights expert to join our team of expert welfare rights officers.
CPAG has published resources on social security law and practice for several decades. Our information resources are key to the working lives of benefits advisers across the sector and beyond. Our publications, – including handbooks, the Welfare Rights Bulletin, What You Need To Know guides and a range of online resources – are trusted by advisers, lawyers and professionals in related fields as comprehensive, accurate and up to date.
We are looking for a social security expert with extensive experience of writing about benefits to join our Advice and Rights Team and play a central role in writing and delivering our print and online resources.
You will be committed to ensuring that the sector is properly equipped to challenge child and family poverty by providing the highest-quality social security information. Your passion for benefits advice will be matched by a proven track record as a writer of high-quality resources, a rigorous commitment to accuracy and an in-depth knowledge of the issues that affect the benefits advice sector. We are looking for someone who is responsive to the needs of the sector and has innovative ideas for developing and delivering our print and online content.
As a member of the Advice and Rights Team at CPAG you will contribute to our advice services and to our training and events programme.
We welcome applications from individuals with the skills and experience outlined and we can be flexible about working arrangements. We operate a hybrid working system and would be happy to discuss any flexibilities required. CPAG is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion which you can read more about in the job pack.
