How can you help your service users manage universal credit? Supporting people with an online system, especially if you are working from home, can be difficult. Understanding the claim process and how to maintain the online journal can help avoid delays and payment issues that can lead to debt. You do not need to be an expert to make a difference. This course aims to equip you with the practical knowledge you need to help your service users navigate universal credit and avoid potential pitfalls.

• Helping people manage the system
• Maximising incomes – understanding universal credit amounts
• Dealing with problems and knowing who can help
This half day introductory level course is aimed at frontline workers who have little or no experience of the benefit system, and will be delivered as follows;
10.00 - 11.15 training session delivered via Zoom
11.15 - 11.45 break
11.45 - 1.00 training session delivered via Zoom
This is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone. Participants will receive an email link, a few days before the start of the course, to allow access to the event.
