How can you help your service users manage universal credit? Supporting people with an online system, especially if you are working from home, can be difficult.
Understanding the claim process and how to maintain the online journal can help avoid delays and payment issues that can lead to debt. You do not need to be an expert to make a difference. This course aims to equip you with the practical knowledge you need to help your service users navigate universal credit and avoid potential pitfalls.

• Helping people manage the system
• Maximising incomes – understanding universal credit amounts
• Dealing with problems and knowing who can help
This course is aimed at frontline workers who have little or no experience of the benefit system.
Methods of delivery and timings
This half-day introductory level course runs from 10.00 to 13.00, with a 30 minute break at 11.15. It is delivered live online, via Zoom, with CPAG trainer Barbara Alexander.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will be provided with supporting e-learning material, including PowerPoint slides and access to exercises and activities hosted on CPAG’s e-learning platform.

Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. Prior to the event, participants will receive an email with a link which they should use to join the event and access supporting materials.
