The interaction of Universal Credit with student finance can be a difficult one.
Which students can claim, what they can claim and how student loans and grants affect those payments can be a complex area.
This course is primarily aimed at those who have a working knowledge of the benefits and tax credits system but who want to know about more how Universal Credit works for those in higher education. It will cover the essential facts that you need in order to give accurate advice, spot errors and keep updated on any recent changes.

Methods of delivery and timings
This half-day Standard level course runs from 10.00 to 13.00, with two 15 minute breaks built into the training. It is delivered live online, via Zoom, with CPAG trainer Gary Vaux.
It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will be provided with supporting e-learning material, including PowerPoint slides and access to exercises and activities hosted on CPAG’s e-learning platform.
What you will need
Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. Prior to the event, participants will receive an email with a link which they should use to join the event and access supporting materials.
