Whether you are helping clients decide on the right course of action or supporting them with an appeal, the facts relevant to the case depend on the law. This course is a guide to finding the relevant law online, essential for anyone working at home without access to the usual resources.
The course looks at:
• Explaining the building blocks of the law - Acts, regulations and caselaw
• Skills in researching law and guidance relevant to a case
• Where to find the law and guidance online, and effective use of these resources
• An introduction to CPAG’s benefit case diagnostic tools and template submissions to aid effective and accurate casework
This half day standard level course is suitable for advisers who undertake benefit casework and will be delivered online as follows;
10.00 - 11.15 training session delivered via Zoom
11.15 - 11.45 break
11.45 - 1.00 training session delivered via Zoom
This is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone. Participants will receive an email link, a few days before the start of the course, to allow access to the event.
