How ‘reliability’ regulation 4 can save PIP, 27 June 2022 ONLINE

This half-day online training course explains how PIP entitlement ‘points’ can be scored if you show you cannot do something ‘reliably’.

In this way, understanding reliability regulation 4 is vital to your understanding of who qualifies for PIP, and accordingly how you can support PIP claims and appeals.

• How PIP is supposed to work
• What goes wrong at the PIP assessment stage?
• The importance of reliability regulation 4(2A)
• The interplay between regulations 7 and 4(2A)
• How regulation 4(2A) sets the reliability standard
• Whether you can do something safely
• Whether you can do something to an acceptable standard
• Whether you can do something repeatedly
• Whether you can do something in a reasonable time period
• How PIP case law can be very helpful
• How to use regulation 4(2A) to improve PIP claims and challenges

Methods of delivery and timings

This half-day Experienced level course runs from 10am to 1pm, with a 30 minute break at 11.15am. It is delivered live online, via Zoom, with CPAG trainer Steve Johnson.

It is a practical course delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will be provided with supporting e-learning material, including PowerPoint slides and access to exercises and activities hosted on CPAG’s e-learning platform.

What you will need

Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. Prior to the event, participants will receive an email with a link which they should use to join the event and access supporting materials.
