Childcare costs in Scotland (Scotland) 21 July 2020 ONLINE
Childcare costs are a significant barrier to work and can trap families in poverty. Support is available through Scottish Government-funded free childcare, tax credits, universal credit or the UK tax-free childcare scheme. The interaction and administration of these different sources of support can cause problems. The coronavirus outbreak has caused further difficulties, with providers and advisers unsure what support is available if parents are off work, or children are unable to attend childcare.
This half-day course looks at the support available for working families and how to help them avoid common problems.
The course covers:
• Help available with childcare under universal credit
• Who can still get childcare support through tax credits
• Understanding some of the pitfalls and how to avoid them
• The impact of the coronavirus outbreak on childcare support
This half day standard level course will be delivered as follows;
10.00 - 11.15 training session delivered via Zoom
11.15 - 11.45 break
