Child disability payment (CDP) is a new Scottish benefit that helps meet the additional needs of disabled children. It will start being rolled out during 2021. This course gives you a practical insight into the main CDP rules for children and an understanding of how you can demonstrate that a child meets the qualifying criteria. This course also covers how and when children will be able to claim CDP and how the roll out will affect children who already get disability living allowance which CDP is replacing.
The course covers:
• Who is entitled to CDP
• Who can claim and when to claim
• How CDP for a child can increase benefits for the family
• An overview of the process for challenging decisions
This half-day introductory level course is aimed at advisers with little or no knowledge of these benefits. The course will be delivered online via Zoom from 10am to 1pm with a half hour break from 11.15 – 11.45.
It is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone. Participants will receive an email a few days before the start of the course, with a link to the event hosted on our AskCPAG elearning platform.
