Benefits and coronavirus - an introduction (Scotland) 17 July 2020 ONLINE
The coronavirus outbreak has seen a huge rise in benefit claims, and a range of new measures and changes to existing benefits. For advisers, it can be hard to keep up with the pace of change. This new course will help you get to grips with these changes.
The course covers:
• The main changes to benefits which have been introduced in response to the coronavirus outbreak
• How the new schemes, such as furloughing and the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme, interact with the benefit system
• Changes to Scottish social security benefits in response to the coronavirus outbreak
This half day introductory level course will be delivered as follows;
10.00 - 11.15 training session delivered via Zoom
11.15 - 11.45 break
11.45 - 1.00 training session delivered via Zoom
This is a practical course, delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and group discussion. Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone. Participants will receive an email link, a few days before the start of the course, to allow access to the event.
