Benefits for non-benefit advisers (London) Thursday 13 and Friday 14 February 2020
This essential two-day course is aimed at non-benefit specialists working with people for whom benefits and tax credits are an issue. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the benefits and tax credits system and enables staff to complete basic income maximisation checks on behalf of clients, tenants and service users.
Challenging WCA Decisions (London) Monday 17 February 2020
The work capability assessment (WCA) applies in both employment and support allowance (ESA) and universal credit (UC). Claimants who fail the WCA can challenge that on appeal, but need support and advice. This course looks at appeal issues and tactics, including the developing body of caselaw.
Challenging PIP Decisions (Manchester) Monday 8 March 2020
This one-day course looks at how to challenge personal independence payment (PIP) decisions. There is an opportunity to discuss how the different PIP criteria affect appeal tactics, and think through how to go about getting the right outcome for clients. The course covers some of the significant caselaw that is relevant to PIP.

This one-day experienced level course is aimed at advisers who are already familiar with the basic universal credit (UC) rules. It looks in detail at some of the areas of dispute that universal credit claimants face and takes a practical, problem-solving approach.
