Before the course
You can join from any internet-enabled device, although we strongly advise against using a mobile phone. You should be able to join using your usual web browser, however, you may be prompted to update to the latest version of Zoom. We recommend doing so prior to the day of the course.
If you haven't used Zoom before then try out your set-up at https://zoom.us/test. Check that your connection, audio and video all work. During the test, have a practice at opening documents on your computer so you can see both at the same time, as you may want to do this during the course to look at course materials.

Joining the course
You will receive an email a few days before the course with a link to our ASKCPAG eLEARNING platform. If you haven't logged in to ASKCPAG eLEARNING recently, you will be prompted to reset your password.
The course page on ASKCPAG eLEARNING contains;
- a link to join the live session on Zoom
- the course materials e.g. pack and slides
- a link to obtain a 1 months free trial of ASKCPAG, for new users who haven't had a free trial
- the course evaluation form, to be completed at the end of the course
During the course
Choose somewhere to join the course that is comfortable, has good internet connection and has minimal distractions.
The course schedule is as follows;
Please try to join the course early. You will join a virtual 'waiting room'. The course host will welcome you from the waiting room, into the training session and will make sure you can access all functions. Once you know everything is working, feel free to switch your video off temporarily and go and get a tea/coffee before the course starts at 10am.

If you are joining a course that runs across two days then the same schedule will be repeated on day two.
Your microphone is automatically muted when the training course begins, so that background noise does not interrupt the trainer while they are presenting.
We recommend that you mute your microphone when not speaking. If you want to speak and your microphone has been switched off by the host, use the 'raise hand' option (click on 'participants' at the bottom of the screen to find this option). You can also use the chat function in the settings bar if you have questions during the course.
You have some options for the layout on your screen - you can adjust it to make it more comfortable for you. When the trainer does not have the slides showing you can switch between ‘speaker mode’ to focus on the person speaking or 'gallery view' - this is done via a bar in the top right hand corner of the screen.
At the end of the course
You will be asked to complete a course evaluation form. Your feedback is important- we ask that you complete and submit the course evaluation.
