The Scottish Campaign on Rights to Social Security (SCORSS) is a coalition of organisations working across Scotland with collective expertise across a range of different aspects of the social security system. All members of SCORSS are united in our belief in a social security system that prevents poverty and supports those in need whilst also protecting their dignity.

At 10am on Tuesday 6 October, as part of Challenge Poverty Week, SCORSS will be hosting an online event focused on the long-term vision for the social security system in Scotland.

Chaired by CPAG in Scotland Director John Dickie, the discussion will feature contributions from:

  • Pauline McNeill MSP (Labour), Shadow Minister for Communities and Equalities

  • Jeremy Balfour MSP (Conservatives), Shadow Minister for Older People and Equalities

  • Patrick Harvie MSP (Greens), Co-Leader of the Scottish Greens

  • Bob Doris MSP (SNP), Convenor of the Social Security Committee

  • Caron Lindsay, Scottish Liberal Democrats, Spokesperson for Social Security and Housing

  • Mhoraig Green, Strategic Lead - Social Justice, Citizens Advice Scotland
