Today (6th October) the UK government is cutting £20 a week from universal credit - a devastating loss to already inadequate family incomes

We have published a new report in response which:

  • states that 22,000 children will be pushed into poverty by the universal credt cut
  • calls on the the Prime Minister to reverse the cut immediately
  • highlights support families are still entitled to in bid to protect children from impact
  • urges the First Minister to bring forward plans to double the Scottish child payment

We have also published new blog detailing how we can support families affected by the cut.
